Palace Past

The rose-colored sandcastle opened in 1928 as the Gulf playground for America's pampered rich. F. Scott Fitzgerald, Lou Gehrig, Clarence Darrow and other elite fancied in its frivolity for 14 years.

The realism of war and depression shortly crumbled the fairytale to a mere shadow (1942). For three decades, The Don served as a convalescent center and VA headquarters. Miraculously, in 1973, it was resculpted and rose again as the Pink Lady.

Palace Portrait

A flamingo-pink, Mediterranean landmark chiseled into the blue Florida sky, accented by Moorish bell towers, imperial turrets, clock tower, sun-splashed terraces and rows and rows of Palladian windows encased with French doors.
Creating a new sense of arrival, guest experience grandeur when entering the revitalized lobby with rich mahogany accents and vibrant upholsteries throughout the concierge and registration areas. The lobby lounge immerses guests in an elegant atmosphere combining refined European charm with a twist of tropical ambiance.

Interior elegance is emulated by European touches with English Axminster carpets, Italian crystal chandeliers, French candelabras and fountains, and works of art depicting picturesque Florida.
